We wanted to honour this Colonial home’s 100-year-old charm while creating a fresh, livable environment for a busy family of four. Preserving the home’s traditional architecture was key, but equally important was ensuring it felt contemporary and practical for modern life. The kitchen became the true hub of the home; its open sight lines draw you straight to the backyard and pool, making the outdoors an integral part of the daily experience.

Our team worked closely with the contractors to ensure every design detail was executed correctly, from the kitchen layout to the layering of colour and pattern throughout. The family’s extensive art collection played a central role, and we curated finishes and furnishings to highlight those pieces without competing with them. This project is a good example of how even period homes can embrace boldness — whether through statement colours, patterns, or thoughtful updates — without losing their sense of history.
