Reflection

It was a delight to work on such an iconic Sydney beach house, built in 1930 and situated on a corner lot surrounded by leafy trees and sea breezes. From the very beginning, we wanted to honor the home’s natural surroundings while creating spaces that felt calm, layered, and deeply connected to family life. A project like this carries both history and charm, and it was important to respect those qualities while bringing the interiors forward for modern living.

The scope included a kitchen remodel, a full update of the primary suite and bathroom, and a refresh of the main living areas. We designed custom floor-to-ceiling bookcases to anchor the open-plan space and worked with our trusted network of trades to ensure every detail was executed to the highest standard. Thoughtfully sourced furnishings added warmth and personality, balancing timeless pieces with family-friendly durability.

This project is a reminder of how older homes, with their unique character and architectural heritage, can be thoughtfully reimagined to suit today’s lifestyles. Creating a space that feels effortless and functional while preserving its identity was a rewarding process, made even more special when the home was proudly featured in Home Beautiful and Real Living magazines.

From the Client

"We had just bought what we knew would be our forever home, but it felt dated and tired. We wanted someone who could bring it back to life while making it practical for modern living with a young family. Jennifer understood exactly what we needed - she respected the character of the house while making it feel fresh, functional, and ours."
Inspired by the trees which envelop this property and the sandy hues of nearby beaches, we overhauled this traditional Sydney beach house.
